Turn on the Download invoice tool. Customers get a Download invoice option on their Thank you and Order status pages that opens a clean, printable invoice for their order, which they can print or save as a PDF. It saves you the "can you send me an invoice?" emails.
How to turn it on
Open Editing Tools, go to the Tools tab and open Download invoice.
Choose How the customer gets it (below).
Click Save, then Turn on.
The Tacey block must also be placed on your Thank you and Order status pages in Shopify's checkout and customer accounts editor.
The one setting: How the customer gets it

Email always goes to the address already on the order, never to an address the customer types in.
What the customer sees
They click Download invoice, then Get my invoice.
With As a link they open, they see Your invoice is ready and a link, View and print your invoice.
With Sent to their email, they see Your invoice is on its way, and an email arrives with the subject "Your invoice for order #1001" and a View invoice button.
Either way, they land on the same invoice page, with a Print or save as PDF button.
What the invoice shows
Your store's name and contact details, and a thank-you line.
The order number, order date and payment status, such as Paid or Partially refunded.
Bill to and Ship to addresses.
Each item with SKU, Qty, Price and Total.
Subtotal, Discount, Shipping, Tax, Refunded, Total and Amount due.
The order note, if there is one.
A notice if the order was cancelled.
Amounts are in the currency the customer paid in, and the invoice and email are in the customer's own language where Tacey supports it.
Always up to date
The invoice is built fresh from the order in Shopify every time it is opened. If the customer changed their address or items, or you issued a refund, the next time they open the link it shows the order as it is now. It is never a stale copy.
Available after the edit window
Unlike the editing tools, Download invoice stays available after the edit window closes, because a customer may need a receipt weeks later. It is also not stopped by your blocked order tags, and it does not use up any of the customer's Maximum edits per order, because it changes nothing on the order.
How long a link works
About 13 months from when it was created. After that, or if the order cannot be found, the page reads We could not open this invoice and asks the customer to reply to their order confirmation email for a new copy. They can also simply click Download invoice again on their order page.
What this does NOT do
It does not use Shopify's own invoice or its templates. Tacey builds its own invoice document from the order's details.
It does not change the order, and no ledger row is written for it.
It does not create a tax invoice number sequence. It shows the order number.
It does not let the customer send the invoice to a different email address.
Frequently asked
Is the invoice link safe to share?
The link is signed, so it cannot be guessed or altered to open another order. It shows only this one order. Anyone the customer forwards it to, such as their accountant, can open it.
Can I customise the invoice design?
Not today. It uses your store's name and details automatically.
