How do I upgrade or downgrade my Tacey plan?

Change your Tacey plan from the Billing page, and know exactly when the new order volume applies.

Written by Joseph Odera

You can move to any of Tacey's six plans at any time from the Billing page. An upgrade takes effect straight away. A downgrade waits until your next renewal, so you never lose orders you have already paid for.

How to change your plan

  1. In Tacey, open Billing from the left-hand menu.

  2. Scroll to All plans. Your plan shows a Current badge.

  3. Use the Monthly and Annual switch to see prices for the way you want to pay.

  4. On the plan you want, click Upgrade to {plan} (for a bigger plan) or Switch to {plan} (for any other plan).

  5. Tacey sends you to Shopify's own pricing page. Confirm the change there.

  6. Shopify brings you back to Tacey.

Your current plan's button reads Current plan and cannot be clicked.

When an upgrade applies

Immediately. As soon as Shopify accepts your upgrade, Tacey uses the higher order volume, even before your next renewal date. The Billing page shows:

> Your upgrade is already active > You are moving to {plan}, and its higher order allowance is in effect now. You do not need to wait for your next renewal.

If address checks had paused because you went over your limit, new orders are checked again from that moment.

When a downgrade applies

At your next renewal. Until then you keep your current plan's order volume. The Billing page shows:

> Your plan changes at your next renewal > You are moving to {plan}. Until then you keep your current allowance of {cap} orders, and nothing changes today.

Which plan Tacey recommends

On the All plans list, Tacey may mark one plan Recommended. It is the smallest plan that covers the orders you have already used this period. Tacey only ever recommends moving up, never down. If your current plan already covers you, the Billing page says: "Your current plan covers your order volume. There is nothing you need to change."

If a plan's number is lower than the orders you have already used this period, its row warns you: "This plan's cap of {cap} is below the {used} orders you have used this window."

What this does NOT do

  • Changing plans never removes a tool. Every plan has every feature. Only the order volume changes.

  • Tacey does not change plans for you. Shopify does not upgrade you automatically either.

  • Tacey does not handle the payment. Shopify charges you through your Shopify invoice.

  • A downgrade does not cut your volume early. You keep your current number until the change actually applies.

Frequently asked

Can I switch from monthly to annual billing?

Yes. Use the Monthly / Annual switch on the Billing page and pick the plan. You confirm the change on Shopify's pricing page. See Should I pay for Tacey monthly or annually?.

I'm on High Volume. How do I get more?

High Volume is the largest plan. The Billing page tells you to get in touch if you need a higher order allowance.

Do I lose my settings when I change plans?

No. Your tools, settings and order records stay exactly as they are.
