When your store uses all the orders in its Tacey plan for the current 30-day period, one thing pauses: the automatic address check on new orders. Your orders, your checkout and your customers' self-service tools are not affected.
What pauses
New orders stop getting an address check. Tacey still records every new order, but it does not check the shipping address. On your Orders page, those orders show Not checked in the Address check column.
This lasts until one of two things happens:
your 30-day period ends and your count resets, or
you upgrade to a plan with a higher order volume.
What keeps working
Your orders. Nothing is blocked, held, cancelled or delayed. Every order goes through checkout and ships as normal.
Your checkout. Tacey never touches checkout, whether you are under your limit or over it.
Your customers' self-service tools. Customers can still use every tool you have switched on, on the Thank you and Order status pages, inside your edit window.
The record of changes. Every change a customer makes is still recorded on the order.
How Tacey tells you
The moment you go over, a banner appears on your Tacey dashboard:
> New orders are not being address-checked > You have used all {cap} orders included in {plan} for this period. Until you upgrade, or your count resets on {date}, incoming orders are not being address-checked. Orders themselves are unaffected.
The banner has a See plans and usage button that opens your Billing page. On the Billing page, your usage shows At limit.
You get a banner, not a stream of warnings. Tacey does not alert you again for every order after the first one that goes over.
How to get address checks running again
Open Billing in Tacey.
Under All plans, Tacey marks the smallest plan that covers the orders you have already used this period.
Click Upgrade to {plan} and confirm on Shopify's pricing page.
As soon as Shopify accepts the upgrade, the new, higher order volume applies. The Billing page confirms it: "Your upgrade is already active." New orders from that point are checked again.
If you would rather wait, address checks start again automatically when your period resets. The reset date is shown on the Billing page and in the dashboard banner.
What this does NOT do
It does not charge you extra. There are no overage fees.
It does not go back and check the orders that were skipped after you upgrade or reset. Only new orders are checked.
It does not upgrade you automatically. Neither Tacey nor Shopify moves you to a bigger plan.
It does not block or hold any order.
Frequently asked
I'm already on High Volume and went over. What now?
The same thing happens: address checks pause until your period resets. There is no bigger plan to move to, so the Billing page says: "You are on our largest plan. Get in touch if you need a higher order allowance."
Will my customers notice?
No. A customer never sees anything about your plan or your order count.
How can I avoid this?
Keep an eye on the usage meter on your Billing page. It shows Near limit once you pass 80% of your plan's orders for the period. If you go over often, move to the next plan up.
