Turn on Add a tag when a customer edits their order and choose a tag. From then on, every order a customer changes through Tacey gets that tag in Shopify, so you can find edited orders in your order list, or route them with a Shopify Flow.
Where to find it
Editing Tools → Global settings → Tag edited orders.
How to set it up
Open Editing Tools and choose the Global settings tab.
In Tag edited orders, switch on Add a tag when a customer edits their order.
Under Tag to add, click Choose or create a tag.
Pick one of your existing order tags, or type a new one and choose Use "your-tag".
Click Save.
It is off by default.
You can pick a tag you already use elsewhere, for example one your warehouse or a Shopify Flow already reacts to, or create a new one such as `customer-edited`.
The switch cannot be saved on without a tag. If you turn it on and leave the tag empty, the save fails rather than quietly saving a switch that does nothing.
When the tag is added
The tag is added right after a customer's change saves successfully to the order. It is added alongside the order's other tags: Tacey never replaces or removes the tags already there.
It is not added when:
The change was refused or failed. Nothing changed, so there is nothing to mark.
The customer was shown an address warning and chose to keep the address they had. The order was not changed.
Ideas for using it
Filter your orders. In Shopify, filter the order list by the tag to see every order a customer changed.
Check before packing. Ask your team to glance at tagged orders before fulfilling.
Automate with Shopify Flow. Start a Flow when the tag is added, for example to notify a channel, add a note for your warehouse or move the order into a review queue.
What this does NOT do
It does not tag orders you edit yourself in Shopify. Only changes made by the customer through Tacey.
It does not remove the tag later. Once added it stays, even if the edit window closes or the order ships.
It does not add a different tag per tool. One tag for every kind of change. To see exactly what changed, open the order's ledger in Tacey.
It does not block anything. To stop customers editing certain orders, use Blocked order tags.
Frequently asked
Will the tag show up instantly?
Usually within a few seconds of the customer's change. If Shopify is briefly unavailable, the change itself is still saved and recorded in the ledger; only the tag is skipped.
Can I use the same tag here and in Blocked order tags?
Technically yes, but then a customer's first change would block every change after it. If that is what you want, a cleaner way is to set Maximum edits per order to 1.
